My Useful Hobbies

I have always been of the opinion that no one can become a good translator, editor, or writer without reading a lot, for after all that’s where the style comes from. Below you will find a list of the books I’ve read in English, or rather a list of those ones whose titles and authors that I have been able to remember. There should also be at least as many in Russian and Ukrainian, the difference being my English reading focuses largely on “light” stuff whereas most of my Russian and Ukrainian reading tends to consist of more serious things. Aside from this, I also have to admit I have a soft spot for some periodicals, such as “National Geographic”, “Newsweek”, and others. Another hobby of mine is the regional varieties of English. In particular, I ‘ve done quite a bit of research on Australian English.
